National Trucking Mediator & Resolution Services Consultant
Cedar Abadie is a seasoned legal professional and trained neutral with an unparalleled background in trucking litigation and personal injury claims evaluation. Over the last decade, she has risen to the top of two trucking companies’ claims structures by challenging old paradigms and reaching across divides. With 20 years of diverse experience as a litigator with top firms and major motor carriers, Cedar now turns that same relentless attention and innovation to a national mediation practice focused on (but not limited to) trucking cases.
Cedar most recently served as Vice President of Claims & Litigation at Knight-Swift, the nation’s largest for-hire motor carrier. She personally handled the most significant and complex matters for the organization on a national basis and oversaw all major personal injury litigation, resolving many catastrophic claims via ADR from coast to coast.
Prior to Knight-Swift, Cedar served as general counsel for a smaller regional carrier where she developed a broad appreciation of trucking as a profession and industry. During this time, she obtained her CDL permit and completed on-road training to better understand the practical realities of CDL drivers as they travel America’s roadways.
Before finding her niche in trucking, Cedar was a solo practitioner for five years, practicing general commercial litigation and corporate governance on both the plaintiff and defense sides. Between 2003 and 2009, Cedar practiced with several national firms in their products liability defense groups. During this time, she completed the 40-hour facilitative neutral training and performed many pro bono mediations in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.
With her extensive litigation experience, Cedar brings perspective, expertise, and relationships from which both sides can readily benefit.
