Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Mediator and Qualified Florida Arbitrator
Dorsey C. Miller III is a native of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and is the youngest son of a former teacher and a former administrator for the Broward County School Board. From an early age, Dorsey knew he wanted to be a lawyer. His passion for reading and writing led him to the University of Florida, where he majored in Political Science with a minor in English. During his undergraduate years, he became involved in student government and received numerous awards and honors, including being invited to join UF’s oldest and most prestigious leadership honorary, Florida Blue Key, and being inducted into the University of Florida Hall of Fame. Upon graduation, Dorsey received a full scholarship to the Frederick G. Levin College of Law at the University of Florida, earning his Juris Doctorate in 2002. He is admitted to practice before all state courts as well as the Northern, Middle and Southern District Courts of Florida. He is rated AV® Preeminent™ by Martindale-Hubbell.
With over 20 years as a litigator, Dorsey realized that he had only had the opportunity to mediate with a handful of diverse mediators. This glaring disparity not only inspired him to become a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Mediator and Qualified Florida Arbitrator himself, but also created a desire to develop a coalition of diverse mediators who could combine their talents to serve their respective legal communities. ADAAM was born out of that desire.
Over the course of his career, Dorsey has represented corporations, insurance companies and municipal entities in claims involving medical malpractice, negligent security, product liability, professional liability, personal injury, wrongful death, motor vehicle negligence, employment disputes and excessive use of force. With 20 years of litigation experience behind him, Dorsey brings a wealth of knowledge to the mediation process, having participated in hundreds of mediations. He draws on this extensive experience and uses a calm and measured approach to help parties reach an agreement.
Dorsey has served as Chairman of the Section IV Appeals Committee of the Florida High School Athletic Association, a Board Member of the Nan Knox Unit of the Boys and Girls Club of America, a member of the Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit and is a former president of the Ft. Lauderdale Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He is also a member of the TJ Reddick Bar Association, the Broward County Bar Association and the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance. Dorsey is married to his high school sweetheart, Alonna, and together they are the proud parents of three sons, Dorsey IV, Christopher and Andrew.
